Texting & Driving

Just a friendly reminder, tomorrow,

the law in Illinois changes regarding texting and driving. Previously, the first offense for texting and driving was not considered a “moving violation” and could not be used to suspend your driving privileges. That all changes tomorrow.

Starting tomorrow, drivers who text, talk or use any hand held devices while driving will receive a ticket for a moving violation. Three moving violations, while operating a non-cmv, in any one year period, will suspend your driving privileges.

And for my truck driving friends, remember, texting while driving a CMV is considered a “serious” violation. Two serious violations within a 3 year period will result in a 60 day Disqualification.

As always, please drive safely and if you are charged with any violations, please call me?
